Ziva the Zebra Runs Away: Color the Story

Ziva the Zebra Runs Away: Color the Story is a zebra coloring book based on the picture book Ziva the Zebra Runs Away: A Story About the Beauty of Being Yourself. This 76-page interactive coloring and activity book offers a new way to experience Ziva’s story.

The full original text appears at the front of the book. Then, uninterrupted black-and-white line art illustrations follow. In addition, page numbers guide readers through both the story and the illustrations.

Ziva grows up surrounded by love. However, she struggles with feeling different because of her stripes. As a result, her journey invites readers to explore belonging, courage, and self-acceptance.

Designed for ages 4 to 10, as well as adults who enjoy coloring, this zebra coloring book supports meaningful conversations about identity and self-worth.

Activities inspired by the story include connect-the-dots, a maze to help Ziva find the herd, a word search, a crossword puzzle, and step-by-step instructions for drawing a zebra.

In addition, readers can continue the experience at www.libbyhikind.com. There, extended story questions and a free downloadable coloring page are available as one free resource. Coloring books are also available for each of the author’s picture books.
